This summer my family went to Maui, Hawaii. It’s nice and warm there, and the beaches are great, but the food was also a highlight!
Actually, we stopped at a sushi joint for a quick bite to eat. Hawaii’s got a large Japanese population, so it should be at least decent right?
Genki Sushi employs the use of conveyor belts, something I haven’t seen in a long time. This means food periodically comes by your table on colourful plates and you can take whatever you like from the belt. (The different plate colours indicates the price of the item.)
The food was average. The scallop mayo were massive, though.
There’s a burger place in Maui called Cheeseburger in Paradise, and their burgers are awesome. They’re really messy, but the “It’s All Good!” was one of the best burgers I’ve ever had, I think.
Captain Jack’s Island Grill restaurant in Lahaina is ok. I had a sandwich. It was aight.
And then we went to Mama’s Fish House one night for dinner, which is probably the most expensive restaurant on the island. Jeeeeeez.
Worth it? Hmm. I think the prices could be a little lower, yknow…
After going ziplining, we went to Paia and got some pizza at Flatbread Company. It’s some really damn good pizza.
If you ever go there, get the Kalua Pork pizza. The other pepperoni and mushroom pizza we ordered doesn’t even compare.
